In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Addition

This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
